Polarizer is a multi-layered film located at upper and bottom part of TFT-LCD Panel, an essential component for LCD Displays, allowing light travel in only the desired direction to pass through. Based on the R&D capabilities and manufacturing excellence, we provide the immensely improved viewing angle and brightness enhanced polarizer to the worldwide customers. By 2006, LG Chem co-developed the world's first 100"" LCD Panel. From 2009, we are leading the polarizer market as a No.1.
By commercializing 3D FPR(Film Patterned Retarder) for the first time in the world in 2010, we contributed to expand 3D TV market immensely. Using a passive 3D technology, 3D FPR creates a comfortable viewing angle and competitive price compared to SG(Shutter Glass) method.
Photo-resists improve the contrast ratio and color reproduction of TFT-LCD panel. We developed photo-resists by using our own technology and currently produce color, column spacer, overcoat, and black matrix photo-resists. As the developer of the industry's highest contrast-ratio color filter photo-resist solution, we continue to break new ground in both technology and quality for our customers.
LCD glass requires extremely flat surfaces, high chemical durability, and low coefficient of thermal expansion. After deciding to enter LCD glass industry in 2009, LG Chem’s IT & Electronic materials company completed the LCD glass factory in 2011 and will start mass production in 2012.
As a new driving force for display industry, OLED materials are key factors for high-efficiency OLED Display. We, LG Chem, provide OLED HIL, HTL, ETL materials to the global leading company like SMD, LGD, etc. Based on the R&D Capability of OLED materials, LG Chem expands its industry field not only OLED materials but also OLED lighting.
ITO Film(Indium Tin Oxide) is a transparent electrode of touch panel module to sense incoming signal. It requires lots of optical and electrical properties like transmittance, heat and humidity resistance, and electric resistance and uniformity. In 2011, LGC entered the ITO Film market, previously monopolized by Nitto Denko.
Rechargeable batteries consist of four major components; Cathode, Anode, Separator, Electrolyte. Among four major materials, we produce Cathode determining the batteries’ durability and stability, and Electrolyte containing free ions that make the substance electrically conductive. Rechargeable batteries can easily sized and shaped to match any application from small-sized application(Notebook PC, Phone, etc.) to large-sized application like hybrid vehicles.
LG Chem provides PCB materials like CCL, 2CCL and Semiconductor processing Film (Die Attach Film).
